Angles captured. Four frames of a single fruitbody, ending with a good close profile.

Morphology

A single fruitbody. Cap 1–2 cm, bright orange to apricot, convex, smooth. Stipe orange-yellow, slender, curved, paler and slightly downy at the base. Gills not visible.

Habitat & substrate

A soft, well-rotted conifer log covered in pine needles and lichen. Saprotrophic on wood.

Lookalikes & what rules them out

Small orange agarics on rotten conifer wood suggest Xeromphalina, Gymnopus or a small Hygrocybe.

Notes

Corrected. Originally this entry pooled six frames as one find. Frames #4151 and #4152 are separate fruitbodies growing further along the same log and now have their own entries (TM0034, TM0035).
