Angles captured. Four frames, including two low down showing the pore surface.

Morphology

Cap 7–9 cm, dull purple-grey to lilac-brown, dry and matt. Pore surface pale grey-cream, not yellow. Stipe pale, stout.

Habitat & substrate

Leaf litter on level ground.

Lookalikes & what rules them out

Pale grey-cream pores rather than yellow is a real distinction and narrows the field. A lilac-grey cap over pale pores is not the common presentation.

Notes

The pore colour is the useful character here and is well shown.
