Angles captured. Three frames, two holding the fruitbody up against the water and reflected trees.

Morphology

Cap 10–12 cm, pale buff to greyish-tan, dry. Pore surface dark olive-brown and deep, contrasting strongly with the pale cap. Stipe thick.

Habitat & substrate

Litter at the water's edge.

Lookalikes & what rules them out

A pale cap over dark olive pores is a useful contrast and suggests a mature fruitbody rather than a distinct species character.
